My first contact with Carly came roughly 8 months before the big day in August. After our initial emails we spoke at length on the phone to discuss their day in more detail. From the start, they were keen for me to be present all day from drinks reception through to the final song of the evening. We spoke of the ‘feel’ they wanted their day to have, and what role I could play in ‘gluing the different parts together’

As the weeks passed we arranged to meet at Carly’s parent’s house a couple of weeks before the wedding day to pin down the full time-line of the day, discuss the finer points of music & special dances, introductions and, meet the family!

The day of the wedding was a hot beautiful summer’s day with the church ceremony taking place just a couple of miles away. Once the photographs were taken it wasn’t long before they arrived at the marquee for the drinks reception surrounded by family & friends.

The atmosphere was happy & relaxed with lots of laughter in & around the venue, while a caricature artist set to work with his pencils capturing portraits of the many faces present.

Guests were seated in a beautifully dressed marquee before I introduced Carly & Richard into the room to a standing ovation of excited well wishers. The energy was high all afternoon, followed by an entertaining toast from the best men & a humorous & heartfelt toast from the Father of the bride.

Once the awesome wedding cake was ‘cut’ & the bride’s bouquet was ‘tossed’ there was only one more tradition to take care of – Carly & Richards first dance as husband & wife!

The party continued to the early hours, finishing on a finale of Jason Mraz “I Won’t Give Up”, bringing to a close a perfect summer wedding day for a wonderful couple.
